Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Immigration N400 application for citizenship missing 2001 shoplifting arrest not disclosed in oral interview either

Viewed 0 times. Posted less than a minute ago in Immigration - Indianapolis, IN

In 2001 as a tourist I shoplifted 7 t-shirts valued at $300 (felony theft in Indiana). Gave a false name and date of birth and was released. Left the country and never resolved the case. People I was with took $2,000. from me and said that would resolve matter. Now I'm seeking citizenship and this matter has come up (found based on my fingerprints and background check). My criminal lawyer can resolve case as a misdemeanor, but my immigration lawyer says I should withdraw application and not have any further contact with DSH in the future; that I could be deported if I pursue. I don't want to lose my chance at citizenship over one dumb, drunken mistake 9 years ago.
