Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
L1 Visa and Green card
Hello
I am on an L1 visa in the US and wish to get my Green Card processing initiated. Someone recently told me that aliens on an L1 visa can bypass the Labor Certification step in the Green card process (though he was not sure of this fact himself).
Can someone tell me if the L1 visa has any relaxation associated with it in the Green Card process, or does it move the same way as any other visa?
I shall highly appreciate a response.
Thanks

You need to be eligible for the L-1A, which is reserved for Managers, Directors, and Executives, who were transferred from an overseas branch to the US branch of the company. If this is the case with you, please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected]. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Re: L1 Visa and Green card
If you have a L-1A visa you can bypass the Labor Certification Process for your Green Card .However, if you have a L-1B visa you need to do the Labor Certification process for your Green Card. If you require further assistance , please call us.
Re: L1 Visa and Green card
It would depend as to which category L-1A or L-1B you have been assigned, specialized knowledge vs. Executive or Manager etc. If you are in fact an L-1A Manager or Executive then the labor certification will not be necessary (an exemption) and you would be entitled to the "priority worker" category. Good luck.

If you are L1 A you would not have to go through labor certification. Please take a look at my site at www.lawyers.com/amyghosh

Yes, if you have an L-1A visa, you can bypass labor certification. If you have an L-1B, then you will need to either change to an L-1A or obtain a labor certification. Most likely, if you entered as an executive, high-level manager or specialized worker, then you probably have an L-1A.
