Legal Question in Immigration Law in California
Legal Status
I obtained Legal Status through my wife, who is a US Citizen back in 2006. How long do I have to wait to request a legal status change for parent?

Re: Legal Status
You have to become a USA citizen yourself in order to petition your parent for residency in the USA.
Re: Legal Status
Your question is unclear. If you are trying to petition for your parent, you are free to do so both as a permanent resident as well as a US citizen if you become one.
Re: Legal Status
I'm not sure what you mean by your question. If you wish to file for the immigration of your parent, you must first become a U.S. citizen for that. You may or may not have conditional residence, but if you do, that must be taken care of first before your citizenship can be approved.

Re: Legal Status
Good Morning:
Depending on what month you got your permanent resident card in 2006, and assuming you meet the residency requirements, you may qualify to apply for citizenship. Once you become a US citizen (3 years after the date you received your green card), you can sponsor your parent for their green card. You must be 21 years or older to sponsor your parent.
This is assuming you already removed your conditions to your green card after 2 years and now have a permanent valid green card. If you do not have a valid green card, then you may need to apply to remove your conditions first.

Re: Legal Status
Dear Inquirer:
You cannot petition your parent until you obtain your own US Citizenship.
