Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

How long does it take for me to bring my wife (married recently) to the states if I have a green card? What is the best and fastest way to do this? (I'm an architect, 30 years old, living in California. She is the same age and a lawyer living in Iran). Thanks!

You file the petition, form I-130, with the USCIS. Currently priority dates in this visa category move really fast (9 months), so as soon as petition is approved, the priority date should be current in a matter of months. Then, your wife can apply for an immigrant visa (green card).

Hi,

An immigrant petition is filed with the USCIS. Upon approval of the petition (this can take several months), and upon the priority date being current the National Visa Center (NVC) will issue instructions to allow your wife to apply for an immigrant visa (conditional green card) at the nearest U.S. Consulate. Information about priority dates is here: www.h1b1.com/visawaiting.htm
