Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

i'm a naturalised US citizen, if my son is visiting from UK and I sponsor him can he remain in the country? If so, will he legally be able to work?

If your son is an adult over 21 or married, he can't remain in USA without an appropriate visa. You can petition for him, yes, and he will have to wait for his priority date to become current before applying for residency in the United States.
