Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

hi, i recently passed my nclex rn test this december but my i-94 expired last may 2009. id like to know possible options for me to adjust status so i can get a ssn in order for me to get my license and work legally? i live in berkeley,california. thank you!

Being out-of-status since May 2009 (for more than 6 months), you can't adjust status unless you are married to a US citizen or protected under 245i.

At this time, you are ineligible for SSN or a work permit.

Hello:

You can have the Schedule A Nurse Petition filed, but it will take time for it to become current. You should strongly consider leaving the U.S. prior to being out of status for more than 180 days so you will not be subject to any bars (assuming you are not under 245(i).
