Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

False Insurance Information

I was just wondering if it is a federal offense or considered a crime when involved in an accident and the person at fault provides false insurance information (insurance from a year ago) when he currently has a newer insurance?

Re: False Insurance Information

If you provide false information to the police, you an be charged with a misdemeanor. If you just pulled out the wrong insurance card, no one will care. Just fix it as soon as possible.
