Legal Question in Insurance Law in California
''Liability''
if we buy a car for my wifes 18 year old daughter who is living at home, put it in her name and she does not have a drivers license or insurance but drives any way, would we be held liable? are we at risk of loosing equity in our home if she gets in a major accident?

Re: ''Liability''
1) Your wife's daughter should obtain a driver's license immediately; and 2) your wife's daughter should obtain insurance for her car immediately. She should not drive without a license or insurance. Period.
Re: ''Liability''
If I represented someone injured or damaged by that girl, I would find a way to hold you and your wife totally responsible. And if you did what you are asking, you would deserve it. In fact, that you are even asking the question could show you had knowledge of its impropriety.
