Guardian from anothr country

I�m a widow with two minor children who are American and Croatian citizens. My request for my citizenship has been processed, because I was married to American citizen who recently passed away. I have permanent residence in the States.

I would like to make a will since my husband died and I have no immediate family in the States.

I would like to appoint my brother in Croatia with his wife for guardians for my children. Can you tell me what does the international law says? Can they also become trustees for my children?

Usually Gardianship's laws are not concerned with the citizenship of the guardian but his ability to perform his duties when required. You may want to appoint an american co-guardian in case that the Croate guardian is not available in the US if needed.
