Legal Question in Employment Law in California

2 Weeks Notice

I was just given my 2 weeks notice after coming back to work for a former employer. Now that he's hired two additional employees, he's fired me. His explanation was that he needs someone that will be more flexible and can work from the office. I currently work from home, but still perform the same duties as if I was in the office. Is this right for him to do?

Re: 2 Weeks Notice

"Right" has nothing to do with it. Unless you have a written employment contract or are in a union, you are 'at will' and can be fired anytime for any reason.
