Legal Question in Employment Law in California
As a 6 year vet for a non profit I am scared my employer will terminate me. I have done nothing wrong but due to the economic climate can my employer terminate me and state it is due to the economy? There is only 10 employees left but I have been told I will go back to doing less work. Can they terminate me for that?

An employer can terminate an employee for no reason at all. The only reasons an employer cannot terminate an employee are discrimination based on a protected classification, such as race or gender, or in retaliation for a protected activity, such as reporting the employer under a whistle-blower law, or union organizing.
