Legal Question in Employment Law in California

im 17 years old, im a mother, and im going to a college to get my G.E.D. my Job is asking for a work permit..although im not in a normal school is there a work permit for preparing for the G.E.D.....you can go in whenever you want so, there is no stricked policy..
