It is a violation of the Cal. Fair Employment and Housing act to discriminate/harass against you b/c of your sexual orientation or b/c you reported such action. You can claim, lost wages, atty fees, emotional distress b/c of these actions. If want to discuss further, contact me @805/641-6600. Depending on how the employer handled your claims as well as the actual alleged harassment or discrimination that took place, you may have a compelling case. The process will require first making a complaint with the Dept. of Fair Employment and Housing. If you further require consultation, please contact our office.

If you can prove policy violation, and/or statute violation, then you may have a case with some value. Proof is thru witness testimony or documents corroborating you, not your word versus someone else. If they suspended you, they must give and have a reason, which you will have to deal with as their defense. Value is determined by outrageousness of situation. If interested in pursuing, contact me with what you have as proof, to discuss case and costs.

You can contact your local DFEHA/EEOC office. After you get the right to sue...you can file a lawsuit or send out a demand letter and negotiate a settlement. Take a look at my site at www.lawyers.com/amyghosh
