Asked to leave a position (job) for no reason
I was begged by a regional VP to take over an account becuase the client had asked the previous GM and District Manager to leave because on personality problems after only 3 months. I took the account and have been there a year. After cleaning it up going through many mangers because of client, not performance based they now want me gone. The account is going well, It is finally clean and now I think they will replace me with a previous GM that was fired by our company just a month ago in NorthWest. I have all supporting email and a log I have kept since September. I also just recieved a bonus. I had to move here with my family and now distraught. I'm 48 years old.
Do I have a case??

If fired, it seems caused by poor mgmt skills of the company, and politics. As such, it is an "at-will" firing. Your remedies are limited, but under the circumstances, you may be able to use the potential for a wrongful termination lawsuit to your advantage in negotiating a satisfactory seperation/severance package. The sooner you get experienced counsel involved, the more likely you will be able to limit the damage to you reputation and career. It may be possible to keep it from being public knowledge. When you moved your family what kind of assurance they gave? Did they give you any reason why they want to replace you. A proper seperation/severance agreement must be negotiated with the employer. Take a look at my site at www.lawyers.com/amyghosh
