Legal Question in Employment Law in California

August 2010 i retired from a major aerospace company in California with corporate headquarter in North Carolina. i went back contracting for them in December as they needed help. Now the corporate headquarters is saying if you retired and receive a pension you cannot come back as a contractor. I was paid for my work in December, I know they still need my services but the California branch now say i cannot come back based upon the corporate rule. would that be legal?

They get to make the rules. Try to negotiate it with them.
