Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Bad reference
I made 2 written complaints about a person who had started her harassment with a boob job comment. Result - lay off in June. Since then I am having a VERY VERY hard time locating work or getting replies to my resume. I've seen those reference check services - if I get a ''bad'' reference from this manager of mine and document it - it is it admissable in court as evidence?

Re: Bad reference
IF you contend you were fired for making complaint about sexual harassment, or about a sexually hostile environment, you are covered by the protections of the laws. IF you could prove through witnesses or documents you were being given a false 'bad' reference, it could be introduced.
