Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Broken Agreement

General manager and I have a verbal agreement with owners that we would be taking over company when they retired shortly. We would provide owners with a salary and buy them out over time. Company would become ours to run and build. This agreement has existed for about six years and is repeated to both of us regularly. Both of us were informed two days ago that the company is being sold. General manager of 17 years with the company was informed that she was going to be replaced by new owners. I was informed that I would have to take pay cut and change responsibilities. Do we have any recourse or options?

Re: Broken Agreement

Tough situation. You have to prove an oral contract that the court will specifically enforce. Any memos, letters, emails, notes, etc mention the deal or details?? Any witnesses to deal or terms?? If interested in discussing facts and such, contact me immediately, before any further progress on other sale.
