Legal Question in Employment Law in California
My brother worked as a CFO for the summer and found that his company is evading taxes. When he brought this up to his bosses, he basically told that part of his job was to cover for them. He disagreed and they fired him. Question: can he get his job back or sue them for unfair firing?

A person who is fired for refusing to violate the law has grounds to sue the company for wrongful termination in violation of public policy. He'd be crazy to ask for his job back with this company.
Why would he want the job back??
Yes, he could sue for illegal retaliation and firing, and if he is serious about doing so, feel free to contact me. I've been doing these cases for over 20 years.
Your brother has a claim for wrongful termination as a whistleblower for retaliation. I would not suggest returning to that company. I would be glad to provide him a courtesy consult. I hope this helps. Bob (818) 222-2433
