Legal Question in Employment Law in California
In California, if you are involved in a hit and run, meaning someone else crashes into your car and damages it to the point you can only drive about 20 miles per hour and then runs instead of stopping with you, can you be fired from your job for being late since it happened on the way to work? Even though he's been late a couple times already this week?

In general, unless an employee is civil service, in a union, or has a written employment contract, they are an 'at will' employee that can be disciplined or terminated any time for any reason, with or without cause, explanation or notice.
