California Over time Labor Law

I need to know what the law states for california regarding overtime, over 8 hrs is over time ? or over 40 hrs?

Yes, and yes; with numerous exceptions. If you believe you are owed OT, then you need to talk to the Labor Commissioner, and if they agree, they will have you file a claim. Then, if the amount is high enough to justify it, you can hire counsel to represent you in the hearings and trial. If so, call to discuss. 714-960-7584

In California, overtime could be due for more than 8 hours in a day OR more than 40 hours in a week, with several exceptions. You should either consult with an attorney or take your claim to the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
