Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Do I have a case?
I was a new teacher. One parent was not happy with my accent and origin. She had complained to me as well as the school. I had notified the school about this. The school terminated me ten days after the probationary period was over and moved the daughter to another class at the same time.
Do I have a case? If, yes what are my damages?

Obviously, it is unlawful to terminate an employee due to their ethnicity or national origin. You can be sure, however, that the school will give other reasons why you were terminated.
To be successful with a discrimination lawsuit, you must be able to prove that the reason stated by the employer is untruthful and the real reason you were terminated was for reasons prohibited by law.
If you think you have evidence to support your contentions, you are better served by consulting with an experienced employment law attorney who can review all of the facts. It is not possible to evaluate your case based on your question in this forum. The attorney can then assess what damages you have suffered and can claim. Be aware there are very strict time limits within which you can file a claim, ranging from 6 months to a year, depending on the nature of the claim.

Your rights are determined by private contract, or Ed laws and union rules. Either way, you would have to prove false and a pretext any reasons given for termination, and prove 'discrimination' to a legal standard. If you think you can do so, feel free to contact me.
