Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Cash bonus revoked and deducted from my paycheck

Husbands cash bonus revoked by boss&deducted from paycheck. He's salary works every holiday, worked over 8 hours per day no overtime He has missed a total of 4 days in 3 years one occasion was when he broke his toes at work box fell on his foot. This time he called in boss said he should have called night before. Husband said didnt feel bad then does now not be in. Hours later boss called leaving message on machine telling him to take his vacation and come in when he felt better about coming to work. In the past his boss has paid him to work thru vacations with the agreement he can take time but not get paid for it. So he had 4 weeks non paid coming and 10 days paid coming to him. He returned to work 4 week later and was given a paycheck stub stating that he took his vacation 1 day too soon so he only had 9 days coming so he revoked the bonus that he had already spent for the rest of the time. He ended up with just a stub stating revoked and $0 pay. What about sick time what about him being salary when my husband gave him his dr's note he said he did not need to see them because he had already figured it out.

Re: Cash bonus revoked and deducted from my paycheck

He is entitled to sick leave per the company policy, including doctor confirmation if required. He is also entitled to vacation per policy, and unpaid leave per policy. The bonus also has to be handled per policy, if he had to work certain periods, and didn't, it could be lost. You're not clear on facts. If you think he improperly lost the bonus, and can show what the policy is, or can show what the 'custom' at the company is, contact me to discuss making a claim for it.
