Legal Question in Employment Law in California
My company relocated me and my family from AZ to CA. There is a 2 year payback period. Over the past 18 mo this company has laid off 3 times, is really struggling and therefore laid off all SR leadership not to mention involved me in very questionable accounting practices. After very stressful situations due to the accounting practices and having work dumped on me for all the people leaving and being fired I decided to find other employment. They are coming after me for the relocation - I feel I was forced to find other employment with all the issues and stress. Do I have any options here?

Options?
Yes. Reject their demand and defend any legal claims they bring, using your stated defenses. If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, feel free to contact me. It may be possible to 'scare' them off from pursuing the claim if they know you already have an attorney.
