Legal Question in Employment Law in California
The Company I work for was bought out. The new company is keeping most of the employees but but changing their hours and pay rate. Because everbody is being let go on friday and rehired by the new company on monday, do I have to accept a pay cut?

No, you do not have to accept a pay cut. But neither does the new employer have to hire you. Employment is a contractual relationship. If you cannot agree on a wage you mutually find acceptable, there is no employment.

No, you can reject their employment offer and look for other work.

You can refuse the pay cut and get a new job or you can accept the offered pay and work for them.
