Legal Question in Employment Law in California

contract question

I'm an independent contractor and the comapny I work for sold the business. I came with the business and the new owner emailed me saying he agrees with the pay schedlue and wanted me to work more hours. His parents who have been working with him, just took the company away from him. They say because I don't have a contract with them, I'm not entitled to my commission. Is this accurate?

Re: contract question

Contracts can be oral. If you don't get paid, you could sue, just be prepared to prove the terms, usually through memos, prior payments, etc. If you need legal help, feel free to contact me.
