Legal Question in Employment Law in California

control on call hours

I live and work at a California resort. I carry a radio and I am required to answer or be on site immediately. How many hours a day can I be required to do this, with no break?

Re: control on call hours

On call employees are entitled to certain overtime benefits. Consult with local counsel to discuss your rights and remedies. You can file a claim for compensation with the Labor Commissioner, who can advise you on what they think you are entitled to. Feel free to contact me for legal help if you determine or think you are entitled to compensation and are forced to pursue your claim, if your case is in SoCal.
