How many days in a row does someone have to work before getting a day off? And how many hours in a day are required before receiving overtime?

You can be required to work 7 days a week if the employer demands it. You can always quit if you don't like it, and can be fired if you refuse. However, unless you are properly classed as 'salaried exempt', you are entitled to time and a half OT for anything over 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, with double time for anything over 12 hours per day and after the first 8 hours on the 7th day.
