Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Discrimination

If you are hired by an employer after they have done a back ground check and see that you have a felony and they still hire you, can this employer segrate you from other workers and assign you to a certain setting area. I was told by my supervisor that because I have a felony that I have to sit in her direct supervision even though the rest of my team members sitting in another area.
