disiplinary action
Can a person be fired from an empyer if a perosn insulted a person by calling that person a bad name ''bitch'' word? This comment was given to a trustworthy coworker confidentally in a confidential manner and she told the other co worker of the insult. this is the first time it happened with a coworker.

Of course. You can be fired for any reason as an 'at will' employee in CA, especially for creating a potential sexual harassment claim by the woman. Words matter, so does behavior.

An employer can let you go in California for good reason, bad reason or no reason as long as not violative of discriminatin law, etc. Sounds like you have a problem and company did not want to share in action other employee might have taken against them had they not taken action reasonable against you.
