Legal Question in Employment Law in California

doctor's note

I work part-time for a very small business with only 3 permanent employees. I recently had a medical procedure and was off work for 4 days. Upon returning to work I was informed that I must have a note from my doctor stating that I am ok'd to work. I was given a verbal ok from the doc. but this is not a policy that I have ever been informed of nor has anyone else been required to do so. Is this allowed by the NLRB?

Re: doctor's note

NLRB has nothing to do with it. Policies are whatever the employer wants them to be. Remember you are an 'at will' employee that can be fired anytime for any reason. Keep the employer happy, keep your job.
