I have an employer who has anger issues and verbally abuses me shorts me on paychecks and uses perscription narcotics several times daily without a perscription from a doctor

You could file a claim for unpaid wages with the Labor Commissioner. Your other issues are not the basis of legal claims other than Workers Comp.
