Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I'm an employer in California. We just bought the assists of a small company and hired their five employees. One of the employees does not fit with qualifications of the person we want to have in our office, Can I terminate her without reason without paying a percentage of unemployment or do I have to go the documentation route? She's been on the payroll for 2 weeks.

You hired her as an employee so she il one, no matter how long she has worked there [not on probation].

You can certainly terminate them, with or without 'cause', as they are an 'at will' employee. But, you will incur EDD charges and increased rate. That's the cost of doing business.
