Legal Question in Employment Law in California
ex employer harassment
I was employed by a travel agency in CA. I was laid off and I did find another agency to contract with.
I did contact a few of my clients to tell them what happened to me and where I went.
My former employer found out about this and is threatening legal action. She also went to my new employer and Im sure used her position on the board of ''Signature Travel Network'' to push her weight around. They terminated my contract, and I no longer have an agency to work for. I have sent my resume to other agencies in the area, but getting no response. Im worried she may have blacklisted me, but no proof.
If she does try to sue me over ''the list'' can I sue her for interfering in my new placement?

You have 'no proof' to base a suit on, but you might get evidence from the person she called, if they're willing to say anything [unlikely]. If you get sued, you'll use whatever evidence you have to defend and/or bring counter suit. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting counsel for defense, or for the purpose of contacting her to warn her about her risks and liability for blackballing you.
