my employer laid me off like a year ago n i collected unemployment then when i went to extend my unemployment they said no because my employer said i was fired ,,, so what do i need to do please

You have to appeal, in writing, within 20 days of the notice you receive from EDD and you will get an administrative hearing to tell your side of the story and cross-examin the employer's witnesses. The judge will decide if you are eligible.

Any denial of benefits can be appealed by filing written notice of your request for appeal at your local office.
