Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Employer owes me

Former employer has a L.A. County Superior Court Judgement to pay me $12K. Won't pay. Do I use the Franchise Tax Board option or put a lein on her personal and/or business property or bank accounts? In your experience, which would yield me payment sooner?

What type of business is it? If there is a constant cash flow directly into the business, the fastest collection method is to pay for a Sheriff to stand at the till and collect your money directly. If you have any idea of a bank account and account number, direct lien is also available. Otherwise, both the FTB and lien approaches are painfully slow but are your only alternatives.

Collection through their bank account is easiest and cheapest once you have a writ to do so, assuming they have money in an accout. Thereafter, it gets more difficult and expensive. You will either have to learn how to do it yourself, or pay someone a percentage to get it for you. Contact me if interested.
