Legal Question in Employment Law in California

My employer owns 2 additional hotel/motels than the one I work in. He often has me do paperwork for both of them as well as paperwork regarding his rental units and other personal finances. Is it legal for him to have me doing this stuff?

As long as you get paid your salary, he can have you work on anything he wants.
