Legal Question in Employment Law in California

My employer hasn't paid me for the last 4 months. He has promised to pay "as soon as funds are available". Soon as these funds are actually available, he is spending them to expand the company, buy new equipment, etc. Every new and then he pays me a very little amount to claim that that's all he can afford but in reality he has more and is investing it to expand the company.

Am i due any compensation for this? I know in cases like lease security deposits, a person is supposed to get 1 or 2% (whatever is the standard rate) of the deposit back because the landlord is putting the money in a bank and is getting that money.

So in this case, he is putting my money into the company and is expanding it, does that mean I should get any compensation for it?

PS I intend to go to court to get him to pay me my salary, i was just wondering if i am entitled to something other than just the salary.

I'm working in Los Angeles, CA. The company is a sole partnarship has been around for more than 10 years. The owner has about $100,000+ in assets. I am due in wadges $7000

It is up to you how long you take the abuse and work for free, before taking action.

You can file a legal claim for all of your unpaid compensation, penalties for each unpaid paycheck, interest on it all, and attorney fees if you have counsel. If he retaliates in any way against you for demanding your compensation, that is another Cause of Action in a lawsuit. If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, feel free to contact me.
