Legal Question in Employment Law in California

When employer pays for first 2 -3 medical visits plus meds, is he setting preced

Medical coverage for myself & my daughter, provided by my employer was denied twice due to failure of submitting paperwork on time. He acknowledged the mishap & agreed to pay for my daughter's visits & meds @ the non-member rate. He paid for 1st 2 visits + meds & hasn't paid 3rd. I'm expecting 2 more bills for visits + an emergency room bill (big$$). Has he set precedence by paying first 2 bills? Am I going to have to pay for their mistakes? Now it's Open enrollment & info has been resubmitted, any chance of retroactive benefits to cover last visits? Since medical is a benefit as opposed to more pay - Is he obligated to pay employees the money that he should have been paying for their medical / dental coverage? Also, the business is being sold & in contract the new owner is not obligated to any current employee for their job/benefits/contracts, etc..., how will this affect these outstanding bills? Is the current owner or new owner under any obligation to provide employees with any kind of notification as in employment status & / or date/time of transfer? I know this is more than one question - I hope it will be allowed. I'd appreciate any help or direction.

If the employer improperly handled the insurance, the company is probably liable for medical expenses that would have been covered. The new company is not liable per contract, so make your claim quickly, file suit if need be.
