Legal Question in Employment Law in California

my employer place advers action documentaiton in my personnel file while I was out on medical leave. they never meet with me. Now I am no longer employed their I requested a copy of my official personnel file and found this there. Is that legal. i am not sure is that was part of reqirement of the bargaining unit I was in or labor law. this was a state agency and we were unionized

You can file a grievance, it is your only remedy. You gave up your civil rights when you joined the union.
