Employer Rampage after Resignation
Resigned as Manager to take VP position at another Bank. President of previous firm now accusing me of stealing customers and also threatening vendors with lawsuit to not working with me at new firm. My replacement at the old firm is now ''Badmouthing'' me to all my current customers. What are my options?

As to threats to vendors, you need to have an attorney quickly deal with and stop this before you get fired from the new firm. As to badmouthing, the quicker you take action to stop it, the less likely your career will be damaged. If lies are being told, it could be slander. Contact me if interested in pursuing.

You may need to threaten or file an injunction against your former employer or the individuals badmouthing and accusing you to get them to stop. As Mr. Nelson stated, if you have evidence that their accusations were false, you can also sue for libel or slander if they are communicating this false information to others and injuring you in your career or professional contacts.
