Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Is employer required to provide a break area?

I work in a family owned business with about 10 office workers. There is no break room, so I have to eat lunch at my desk while listening to the phone ring and listening to my co-workers phones ring. Is my employer required to provide a break area that is seperate from the work area?

No, but you're free to go outside or leave the area for the duration of lunch and breaks.
