Legal Question in Employment Law in California

employment contract

interviewed 3 times for a

position;did well in all interviews;in

final interview, did so well, i was

promised interview for higher

position.i followed up, nothing

happened. i did tell the company i

would accept any offer and sent

thank you cards.i followed up for

two years to emphasize my

interest.do i have a case for a

broken verbal contract?one lawyer

said it was worth a try, since they

did promise me and i relied on their

promise. another said, since their

was no offer for a job, no case.

who is right?

You were promised an interview, not a job. There was no contract and you have no claim.

The writing should have been on the wall when they didn't hire you within a couple of weeks. Save the money you would spend on a lawyer.
