Legal Question in Employment Law in California
If a fellow teacher at a public high school repeatedly criticizes my students behavior in a way that is actually criticizing my competence. Is this harassment? I find it so ironic in this situation because this teacher is so unpopular with the students that she only has 17 students in 3 classes. While I have over 70 students in my 3 classes. We both teach art related classes so I end up getting all of the spill over because of her unpopularity. I am credentialled and have been teaching for 5 years, she has been at the school two years and was an after school teacher before getting the position at this school. Do I have recourse?

Sure. Discuss and resolve it like grown ups, or simply ignore it. No one said life was fair and that you were entitled to have everyone treat you 'nice'. You have union grievance processes it there was actually any real improper or outrageous conduct.
