Legal Question in Employment Law in California
i was fired from my job and signed a restitution but because they have my address incorrect on their file i wasn't recieving any bill or paper from them. After 2 months i recieve a court date saying i was charged for embezzlement under $400. I dont know what to do please help. my courdate is tommorow.

Well, clearly there is much more to this story than what you have posted. But failing to live up to your promise to pay back money you agreed to pay and blaming it on your employer for not having your correct address, leading to criminal charges being filed, then waiting until the day before you have to go to court to seek help, in a public forum, is probably not the best series of decisions you can make. Obviously, you have put yourself in a situation where you now need to hire a lawyer to defend the criminal charge, if you do not qualify for a public defender. There is not much an on-line attorney giving out free legal advice can do for you now.
hire an attorney before court, or apply for the Public Defender if you qualify. Ask the judge for more time to do so.
