Legal Question in Employment Law in California

fired from job

i was fired from my job unexpectedly. I had worked for this co for 4 years left for 2 and came back for 19mo. Prior to that i had no write ups. i got 2 this year from a new supervior who wanted me to do illegal procedures. Now the owners wifes niece is the new manager. do i have a case against them for wrongful termination? In the past 19 mo i did not receive an evaluation either.

Re: fired from job

There is no way to tell from the minimal information provided if you have grounds to claim wrongful termination. If you can prove you were fired in retaliation for refusing to commit an illegal act, serious enough to be recognized as a public policy of the State of California, you have a case. The smartest thing you can do is meet with an employment law attorney in your area, as soon as possible, to review the facts, evidence and your options.

Re: fired from job

The only thing you mentioned that would create a potentially valuable case is the 'illegal procedures' comment. If you can prove that what you were asked to do was actually illegal, through witnesses, documents or other evidence, then please contact me to discuss the facts, evidence, and your rights and remedies.

Re: fired from job

It is difficult to provide you with an accurate answer based on the limited information you have provided. However, if you have proof supporting your claim of wrongful termination due to your unwillingness to participate in illegal conduct you may have a case.

In order to determine this contact an employment attorney in your areas or you may contact my office to discuss this matter further.
