Legal Question in Employment Law in California
So my friend works in a retail company and one day she worked, she had lost 57 dollars so they made her compensate for that with no evidence of her losing that money, is this legal, should she pursue a lawsuit?

It is not legal to make an employee pay back money to an employer for money lost by mistake, unless it was done through gross negligence or there is proof she actually stole the money.
However, an employer can discipline an employee for making a mistake. No, she cannot pursue a lawsuit for something like this.
