Legal Question in Employment Law in California

full time emplyment

I was told, if you are scheduled 40 hours in a week for 3 months in a row you must be considered as full time employment. I have been working as such for 6 months and now they want to change my hours to part time. My questions is can they do this?

Certainly, but if your hours are 'substantially' cut, you might be able treat it as a termination, leave, and still might qualify for unemployment.
