full-time vs. part-time status
The place I work defines full-time in their Employment Manual as working over 40 hours per week. Only full-time employees can earn paid vacation. Is there any California law that would supercede this and require paid vacation to be given to employees who work over, say, 32 hours per week?

I believe over 32 hours constitutes 'full time' for many purposes, however, your opinion and mine does not matter. That of the Labor Commissioner does. If you try to file a claim, they will determine whether you are entitled. IF they take your claim, and if you want counsel to help you in the hearings and trial involved, or you get retaliated against for filing, feel free to contact me.
