Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I gave my employer 10 days notice of my resignation. He discharged me two days before my notice was up. Is he required to pay me for the two remaining days!

If your employment was "at will" (this is likely but google "at will employment" for more info) your employer can let you go at any time even if you give ten days notice. Many employers will not even give you 1 day after you give notice, let alone 8. So... to answer your question; if you were an "at will" employee you are not entitled to the last two days of pay.

The good news, however, is that by firing you instead of waiting until you left, you may be able to collect unemployment.
