Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I gave notice I might be leaving my job for college and gave a projected date--my boss laid me off one month before that date and is fighting my unemployment benefit award saying I am not eligible since I had given notice. Am I commiting fraud?

Fraud, no. But you may not win your appeal. Give it your best shot, tell the truth, and let the judge decide.
